JOY. Yes, that is the perfect word for this amazing family. If you visit their house, you’ll see the word “joy” displayed in signs on the wall, written on pillows, hidden in little decorations on shelves, and bursting from their hearts. I jumped at the opportunity to take family portraits for these jems! Megan told me to let my imagination go when planning their family pictures. I knew that “Joy” must be a prevailing theme, but how can I artfully show that in photos? I mean, other than the joy beaming from their faces. Somehow, I imagined a boat named “The Joyful Journey,” and the portrait adventure was born!

You would laugh and the number of photos shot back and forth when planning outfits via text and while raiding their closets together. Such fun! Megan knew she would love for little M to wear her blue paisley dress. We let our ideas run from there, deciding a pop of coral for Megan’s dress would be a lovely touch. Adding all of the accessories really helped make their adventure picture perfect and tied the color scheme together.
