Like so many of my clients are at the beginning of a portrait shoot, Vanessa was a bit unsure of how to pose or whether or not she would look good. It’s typical to feel that way, especially among high school senior girls, I have found. Yet, I assured her it always gets better and more comfortable as the portrait shoot goes on. Silly Vanessa! There was no need to worry! As you can see, even from the beginning, she was a natural and her amazing beauty shines so marvelously in her senior pictures! I loved going out to play with her mom, Dedre, and mom’s boyfriend, David again. (They were there for Carter’s shoot too, a while back!) Again, they ordered an album, which means I gave you a LOT of eye candy below.
Albums are so perfect, because they tell the story of our little portrait session adventure, and you get to keep a lot of pictures! Enjoy a sampling of Vanessa’s senior pictures:

What a perfect mixture of urban fun and gorgeous nature to showcase beautiful Mehak in her senior pictures! She is a city girl who also loves nature, so we found the perfect blend of both. We captured so many lovely moments and treasures (two significant necklaces, for instance) in her senior portraits and you get to see the results! Have fun browsing through a few of my faves from Mehak’s senior portrait session in Seattle.
Ali | Senior Portraits {Class of 2012 Senior Portrait Photographer}
December 1, 2011Ali! Another gorgeous senior and more beautiful senior pictures! If I remember correctly, she was thinking that some shots with a barn would be cool, so I brought some banana bread over to my neighbor again and asked if we could use his place. (The same place where we had taken Kayla’s shots.) I love it when my portrait clients have a specific little vision or wish for their pictures and I get to grant it! Such a rewarding experience. Below are some of my favorites from Ali’s senior portrait session. Yes, there are a ton to enjoy again. It’s just so hard to narrow it down when I get to retouch some magic into a bunch of them when they order an album or other keepsakes!
Lindsey | Senior Portraits {Class of 2012 Senior Portrait Photographer}
November 30, 2011Meet Miss Photogenic. No really, Lindsey is very natural in front of the camera, which made taking her senior portraits such a breeze. She loves the tall grass and water, so we made sure to find spots to that would showcase her favorite types of places for her senior pictures. I am posting a ton of photos, since she is going to enjoy a wall gallery and portfolio box of matted images, along with a number of other goodies. These are still just a sampling of my favorites. So many great senior portraits of her!:
Thank you, Lindsey (and mom Jill) for a fun-filled shoot and so so many gorgeous moments.
Cheers!
Kristen
Emiko | Senior Pictures {Class of 2012 Senior Portrait Photographer}
November 30, 2011Smiles and Flowers. If I could sum Emiko up in two words, those would be it. She is full of contagious, full on, smiley eyed-smiles that you just can’t resist. When I asked her mom, Chrissy, how she would describe Emiko, she said that she always pictures Emiko around flowers. “Flowers, it is!” I said. We ended up scheduling Emiko’s senior portrait shoot at the last minute and had a perfectly gorgeous day to match a perfectly beautiful girl. I so wanted to capture her laughter and smiles in her senior pictures, since my goal is to capture the real person and freeze them in artwork forever in custom portraits…and we can’t forget loads and loads of flowers! Here are a few of my favorate portraits from Emiko’s senior pictures session. Enjoy!:
Thank you Emiko (and mom Chrissy and super spokesmodel Tracy) for a fabulous senior portrait shoot. You all helped make it wonderful!
Delightfully,
Kristen
As you may know, tailoring each portrait session to each client is very important to me. I want your photos to reflect who YOU are, and I wish for your portrait session to be an amazing experience YOU will enjoy. Kayla’s senior portrait session is a fantastic example of the custom-tailoring I do and the wonderful experience that goes with it. She told me she is a country girl at heart, and I was trying to think of the perfect location, when it dawned on me that my neighbor has a beautiful field, complete with horses. Not only that, but Kayla had mentioned that she really liked the senior portraits I had taken of people in cars, even though she doesn’t have a car that she would really want to have in her pictures. Welllllll, that same neighbor has an amazing old truck that I had asked years ago to use in a future photo session sometime. It looked like now was the time! How much more perfect can you get? It gets even better: she is also a big water and boat person, so we tied in a great lake nearby, and she had the cutest “nautical-like” top to match the whole feel. When we were all done, Kayla said something like, “That was everything I could have ever wanted…..and more!” I was so thrilled to hear that! See for yourself how she rocked the session:
Kayla! I love your sweet smiles and lovely personality. Thanks for a great senior portrait session!
Cheers!

Meet Priyanka, another one of my fabulous senior portrait clients! What a gorgeous day we had for her senior portraits…and what a perfect location. She loves the color purple, and I had just spotted the perfect patch of purple flowers, which must have just been meant for her. Priyanka also loves the “hair flipping” look in portraits, so we had a lot of fun and laughs, having her flip her head and hair this way and that, trying to achieve the ultimate look for her senior portraits. Great times! We had a blast picking wild flowers and adorning her hair with them…just look on and see which of her senior pictures are your favorites!
Priyanka, you were so much fun! Thank you.
Delightfully,
Kristen
Alli brought a whole group of friends will her to her senior portrait session to help cheer her on – literally. They (cheerleaders and non-cheerleaders alike) were doing cheers behind me and telling all sorts of great jokes to get Alli to laugh. Boy did it work! We captured some delightful laughter, beautiful smiles, gorgeous scenery, and had a whole lot of fun in the senior pictures process. One of my favorite things as a senior portrait photographer is getting a taste of that wonderful, youthful spirit that high school seniors have. It’s amazingly contagious. Take a look at all of the fun:
Alli and her friends have a funny tradition of taking photos where the three of them are off in a group, separate from Alli. Here is a spin on that tradition, with Alli showing her beautiful confidence!
As you may already know, I make sure that each senior portrait session is tailored to the individual. I personalize it for YOU! Since Alli does a fantastic job in school and is the one her peers often turn to for school help, we thought it would be fun to play up the nerdy aspect, piling up a bunch of books and having Alli wear some bit-of-nerdy glasses. NO – She’s not really a nerd.
We just thought her friends would get a kick out of it and that this styling would help everyone remember a bit of Alli’s identity during her senior year.
Did I mention Alli’s fabulous shoe collection? We thought we would play it up a little:
Yes, they are spelling her name! Can you see it: A – L – L – Y! Too much fun.
What a fun day! Thanks, Alli and gang.
Cheers!
Kristen
What a perfect, beautiful day, for a lovely, beautiful gal’s senior portraits! Alisa had her friend Rosalind join us for the senior pictures fun, and we had a lot of laughs and great times on the shoot…not to mention a ton of amazing pictures. Here are a few for you to enjoy!
Thank you, Alisa and Rosalind! You guys were a blast!
Cheers!

I was thrilled when I got a call from Madison’s dad, asking if I would be available to take her senior portraits while she was visiting here from Michigan! What an honor that Madison found me online and chose me to be her senior portrait photographer so that she would have something different from what all of her friends but have in Michigan. I didn’t know until I met her just how much fun that we would have together. That girl has got the moves! Madison, if you are ever back here, please give me a call, and maybe we can just go out and play on some sort of styled shoot sometime.
Madison wanted some photos that would somehow say, “Seattle,” so we decided that waterfront pictures with boats and other fun details would help set her pictures apart and make something really special from those other seniors in hometown. Here are a bunch of faves:

Thank you so much for choosing me! I loved every minute.
Delightfully,
Kristen
