I was thrilled when I got a call from Madison’s dad, asking if I would be available to take her senior portraits while she was visiting here from Michigan! What an honor that Madison found me online and chose me to be her senior portrait photographer so that she would have something different from what all of her friends but have in Michigan. I didn’t know until I met her just how much fun that we would have together. That girl has got the moves! Madison, if you are ever back here, please give me a call, and maybe we can just go out and play on some sort of styled shoot sometime. :) Madison wanted some photos that would somehow say, “Seattle,” so we decided that waterfront pictures with boats and other fun details would help set her pictures apart and make something really special from those other seniors in hometown. Here are a bunch of faves:

Thank you so much for choosing me! I loved every minute.

Hi all! Well, it seems like I just can’t find enough time to squeeze in some blogging fun! Hi all! Well, it seems like I just can’t find enough time to squeeze in some blogging fun! Nevertheless, here I am, sharing portraits from a very fun senior portrait spokesmodel shoot with my newest spokesmodel for the class of 2012, Tracy. Let me give you a little background on this shoot. Being a photographer and loving capturing the beauty and fun in all of my clients, family, and the world around me,  my strange little mind is always soaking up possible photo shoot locations…and I find some of the strangest, most lovely locations, mind you! You may not know it, but some of the beautiful fields that provide backdrops for some of my clients and models are just that – beautiful fields. Some are really natural beauty found next to the freeway. Others, as in Tracy’s spokesmodel shoot’s case, are overgrown, deserted housing plots. :) Well, I noticed this particular housing plot a little over a year ago when I spotted the largest dandelion clocks I have ever laid eyes on! (I call the fuzzy balls that yellow dandelions leave behind “dandelion clocks,” because I read that in a book.) Anyway, those amazing blooms blew away before I had a chance to use them for a photo shoot. I kept looking and looking this year and, what do you know? The blooms came out just in time for Tracy’s senior spokesmodel shoot! Whoo hoo! Tracy was such a great sport in all of this…I’ll show you why in a minute. Please enjoy the lovely photos we got:

First of all, here is the ultimate dandelion clock-blowing photo!

How did we get that shot? Let’s just say with a little bit of magic. You see, those dandelion clocks were hearty little fellows. Tracy was puffing on them with all her might and couldn’t get them to budge. Finally, I just had her shake of the blooms! lol! Check it out:

Sooo, the first photo I showed was really a mixture of the first photo in the blog storyboard above and the second to last one. Ha ha ha! Photoshop magic and a whole lot of fun. And now on to the rest:

OH I forgot to mention the amazing little yellow chair we found in an alley! Too perfect!

Thanks, Tracy! Welcome to the team!

Delightfully,

Kristen

Sharon | {Senior Pictures Spokesmodel} Class of 2012 Seattle Senior Portrait Photographer

January 26th, 2011

Whoo hoo! The sun is finally shining around here in rainy Seattle (well, at least at times,) and Sharon, my newest class of 2012 senior portrait spokesmodel, was up for a last-minute “let’s-take-advantage-of-the-great-day” spokesmodel shoot to get her started. I am so thrilled to have Sharon as part of my senior portrait spokesmodel team! She [...]

She is so lovely, easy to be around, ambitious, beautiful…just someone everyone would want to know. She didn’t even bat an eyelash at the thought of squeezing her spokesmodel portrait photo shoot in between driving around the greater Seattle area for the SATs, another appointment, and a romantic birthday dinner celebration with her boyfriend. We had so much fun enjoying the sunshine and playing around with different outfits and settings for her photo shoot. Here are a handful of my favorites:

Thanks, Sharon! You are wonderful. :) I’m so thankful to have you on my team.

Lloyd | {Senior Pictures} Class of 2011 Seattle Senior Portrait Photographer

December 21st, 2010

What an adventure I had with Lloyd on the beautiful farm where she keeps her pony, Tip-top, and where her grandma-like close friend lives. I love having portrait shoots at places which such personal significance. It just adds to the magic! Lloyd’s senior portrait session was full of magical moments. We couldn’t have asked for [...]

I love having portrait shoots at places which such personal significance. It just adds to the magic! Lloyd’s senior portrait session was full of magical moments. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. The sun was shining and the grounds were lovely. We hauled her big, red, chair into the middle of a field for some unique senior pictures and caught sweet moments with Lloyd and Tip-top and her dark golden retriever, Sarah. Lloyd loves photography as well which helped make her a natural at posing for shots and up for anything! Here are a bunch of shots from her shoot. (Like Carter, posted below, she ordered a book, which makes narrowing the blog post photos such a fun challenge!)

Lloyd, I had a blast on our magical adventure. Thank you!!

I love it when I have a special inspiration perfectly fitting a certain photo shoot. Well, that’s just what happened while on my way driving to Carter’s senior portrait session. We had all been talking about clothing choices for Carter’s senior pictures and decided on a variety of everyday wear contrasted with some shots in a nice suit. I always think it’s a great idea to have variety of outfits for each photo shoot. That allows us to capture a variety of looks and adds even more fun to our portrait sessions. I was admiring the gorgeous fall scenery while driving to the shoot and my eyes fell upon an amazing “field” of sorts just calling out for a young man wearing in a suit for a fun album-cover type look. Carter was up for it, so we hiked our way out to the field for some perfect guy senior portrait artwork! Not only that but we also got some perfectly fun shots in the woods. Since Carter enjoys the outdoors, we headed off to the woods for some shots. While out there, Carter mentioned something about climbing a tree and the rest is history. We had plenty of other picture perfect moments, but we will just let the photos speak for themselves. (I’m posting a ton because they ordered a portrait album and I’ve artfully retouched a bunch, making it so hard to choose!)

Thank you, Carter, friends, and family, for such a fabulous time! You are all such fun. :)

Here is another fabulous, beautiful senior, Samantha! We did a back to back senior portrait shoot with her and friend Elizabeth (otherwise known as LB,) whom you might remember is one of my fantastic spokesmodels this year. I love her lovely smile. She loves working with children, and you can just tell she has a welcoming personality and that kids would just love to be around her! Sam and LB wanted a mixture of urban and nature looks for their senior pictures. Since Sam’s favorite color is blue, we captured some great senior portrait shots against a brilliant blue wall. We also found plenty of fun locations for their senior pictures and added a bit of the unexpected by pulling out the boots and umbrellas in a beach-like setting. Such a fun time!

Because the senior portrait season is still upon us, I wanted to show you another fabulous senior: Mahi! She’s beautiful inside and out, and we had adventures all over in the gorgeous fall sunshine. Since she had just started driving recently (way to go, Mahi,) I thought it would be perfect to capture some of her senior pictures in her very own car, glammed up a bit, of course. Mahi really wanted some photos in a golden field, and boy did we work for those! As the sun was setting, we were laughing and running to chase the light, through a dog park, no less. Did I mention she’s afraid of dogs? She was brave and lovely, and her amazingly gorgeous photos were worth it, she agrees! Here are some of my favorites from her senior portrait session:

Thank you, Mahi!

Rachel is a sweet young woman with a huge heart for important causes. We wanted to capture in her senior portraits some of her love for causes like Invisible Children and Falling Whistles (I hope I got those right.) If you feel so inclined, go look those up and see what you can do to help. Rachel looked beautiful and was ready for anything! She had her makeup done by my beauty consultant, and it really helped bring out her natural beauty. I love the variety of locations and expressions we captured, from finding the big tractor to the fun smiles to those amazing orange shoes! We both agreed the shoes would pair beautifully with her purple dress for her senior pictures and boy could she pull it off! I worked my magic on artfully retouching a bunch of them, because she decided to get one of my new LookBook TXTs. It’s a mini album with a journal/guestbook option, looks fantastic, and is an amazing keepsake. Maybe I will post some pics of the finished product when it’s all assembled.

Thanks, Rachel! It was a joy getting to know you and having a senior portrait adventure with you!

Natalie also brought a fun group of gals to cheer her on during her senior shoot. Something especially wondeful is that we were able to schedule her session before her older sister left to go back to school! She joined us for a few of the pictures too, and I loved seeing the bond the two of them have. Natalie opted for an Indoor and Outdoor shoot, giving her the variety of both worlds, and we captured some gorgeous moments! Here are some of them:

Natalie, thanks for great fun! You looked wonderful.

Cheers,
