Hey, all! You know the story of the cobbler whose kids never had any shoes? Well, I’m kind of the photographer whose kids never have any (edited) photos of themselves. Oh, I take plenty, of portraits of my boys, that’s for sure, and I get them all gussied up (or as much as you can gussy up boys) for portrait adventures of our own, but editing….um….that’s another story. Life is busy, and computer time is limited. What time I do get at my computer, I usually devote to my clients and have a blast creating masterpieces out of their photos. But my family’s photos…Well, you get the gist.

I was SO proud of myself that I edited the Last Lemonade Stand of the Summer Photos in a decent amount of time, AND I even edited and put in a WALL GALLERY autumn-style photos of our mini portrait adventure to the pumpkin patch. You see, I just got this unstoppable urge to match my autumn wall gallery to my autumn decor, and I moved mountains to get it accomplished!

An-y-way….That is my little explanation as to why I am just now posting my almost two-year-old photos of my own family maternity portrait adventure from when baby C. was in my belly. My dear and talented friend, Tessa, of Tessa Danielle Photography was kind enough to come out and capture on digital film the crazy hot cocoa in the woods portrait adventure I dreamed up and styled. She and I used to shoot weddings together, and I love how our brains just “get” each other! She let me have fun styling, directing, and editing my family portraits, and she knows just how to capture the moments!

Cozy up, maybe pour yourself a little mug of hot cocoa (or coffee, or tea,) and enjoy a trek through the forest with my family!

Oh and I’m feeling a little bit proud, cause I built that table – out of pallet wood, no less! And I made that wooden sign too. 🙂

I really really wanted a frosty day so our maternity & family photo shoot would have a bit of a snowy feel. Looking back, I’m glad we didn’t! It was cold enough for the little ones, dressed without coats so we could keep up our coordinating look. And I ended up loving the richness of the greenery with our reds. Still, I just couldn’t resist working some Photoshop magic on one of the images. (Compare it with the first image in this maternity shoot post!)
